Chocolate With a View
Do you love chocolate? Then you have come to the right place. Since June 2010 we have been producing quality chocolate from local ingredients, inspired by Norway’s fjords and mountains.
You will find us at Holenaustet boat house which is located in the pedestrian shopping street in the centre of Geiranger. The café and chocolate shop are on street level and the production is downstairs. Look out for the turquoise bicycle!

The boat house
Locating a chocolate factory in a boat house poses some challenges. Chocolate production is sensitive to both the humid fjord climate and temperature fluctuations. For that reason, the indoor climate is carefully controlled to prevent adverse effects on production.
The chocolate factory is in the boat house basement. The shop and café is on street level. If you want to have a closer look at the chocolate production, you can go around to the side facing the fjord and peep through the window!

- THE SUITOR
If you like dark chocolate, we would strongly recommend that you try this fantastic combination of sweet and salt. The olive oil imparts an incredibly smooth consistency that makes the chocolate melt in the mouth.
THE BRIDAL VEIL
Our chilli chocolate will take your breath away, just like the view from Flydalsjuvet - the well-known tourist attraction that is the perfect spot for photographing Geiranger.
Home made marzipan with a taste of chocolate maker Bengt’s favourite Norwegian aquavit, «Gammel Opland» and a southern touch from the raisins.
Single malt whisky with a hint of smoke from the Isle of Islay in Scotland. Legend says that the suitor hit the bottle after he proposed to the seven sisters and was rejected by them all.
An invigorating chocolate with «Kraftkar» blue cheese from Tingvollost cheese makers in Nordmøre. We melt the cheese and add a bit of extra spice with Gammel Opland aquavit and Himalayan salt.

The brown cheese chocolate is a confectionary with new, distinctively Norwegian caramel taste. We melt Norway’s iconic brown cheese and blend it with the supreme summer honey from farmer
A fresh combination of dark chocolate and large, richly-flavoured raspberries from the neighbouring village of Norddal. The village is a fjordside gem, with an octagonal church from 1782 and a row of old boat houses.
The filling is a blend of white chocolate and juicy wild hand picked blueberries, and full of antioxidants. This confectionary is named after the best known and richest mountain farm in Geirangerfjord: Skageflå.
Our philosophy is that taste should be paramount. We mainly use 70 per cent pure cocoa in our chocolate, which makes it dark and as healthy as can be.

Our pure chocolate is rich in flavour and made from scratch, without preservatives or additives. Most of the delicious flavours are made from ingredients produced in the local area.

Send a Chocolate Post Card!
Send a chocolate greeting to those at home! We have especially made post cards that contain a beautiful, hand made chocolate sheet. You can choose between four cards: historic motifs in black and white either of Flydalsjuvet or of the fjord with a cruise ship anchored, or new colour motifs of the seven sisters or Geiranger harbour with snow-white mountains in the background.
Go Nuts! Dark chocolate with roasted hazel nuts, walnuts and almonds. If you’re making chocolate with nuts, it should have a lot of nuts.
A healthy chocolate snack: thin flatbread from Røros hand-dipped in dark chocolate, with a taste of spices such as sea salt, chilli, fennel and rosé pepper.

White, dark or light raw chocolate which you can use in homemade chocolate milk, or for baking and cooking in your own kitchen.
Dried apricot covered in beautiful, dark 70-per-cent chocolate. This confectionary has been named after the sunny shore farm Matvika at the mouth of the Geiranger fjord where they grew apricots in the past.

The hot chocolate drink (white' milk or dark) is assembled at the table with chocolate stirred into hot milk. The chocolates are novel (priced to buy small quantities). The shop is small and has lots of character."
